Extra Credit...from book to film!

                 

This holiday season, a number of very popular books such as The Hobbit, Ender's Game, and Catching Fire have been made into movies. In order to earn this extra credit, you MUST read the book...no negotiations. You must also watch the film. You must then write a 3/4-1 page explanation of how the film and book are similar or different. You will be expected to use very specific details. Beware...Mrs. Jarvis has read all of these books! Good luck and enjoy! This is worth up to 15 points extra credit and yes, you may do it for EACH book/film if you choose.

Extra Credit...Library Writing Contest!

Topic: Family/Thankfulness/Holidays

Requirements: Minimum of 100 words, can be a story, a poem, a song, any type of creative writing, just incorporate the quarter’s topic

Due: On or before January 24th, the last day of quarter 2, submit entry to the library

You must ALSO submit a copy to Mrs. Jarvis to earn extra credit BY NO LATER THAN January 22nd! Worth 10 points extra credit.

PHS Open House

Reminder that the Open House for Pasco High is tonight, Thursday, November 7th from 6-8 pm.  Unfortunately, I will only be available during the advisory portion of the Open House. If you or your parents would like to meet with me, please email me at ajarvis@psd1.org to make arrangements.

Extra Credit...start a Goodreads account!

Goodreads is a website for people who love to read and talk about books. For this extra credit opportunity, you will need to
1)create a Goodreads account by going to www.goodreads.com
2)Input a MINIMUM of 20 books that you like (some you might not have read yet!)
3)Comment on this post including your first and last name and a link to your Goodreads webpage (simply copy and paste the webaddress from your book list into the comment section)
